• Snow View Point


Located at an altitude of 2270m, Snow View is the perfect place to experience the Himalayan Range. There are multiple ways to reach there – you can trek your way up, ride on ponies or take the road. But the aerial tramway from Mallital beats all other options! You will find all the facilities up there like binoculars, snacks, tea or Maggi. A tiny temple is also situated at Snow Point that houses pictures of Ram, Sita, Hanuman, Shiva and Durga which deserves a visit. Another iconic place up there is a Tibetan residence Gadhan Kunkyop Ling Gompa of the Gelukpa order.

• China Peak


Also known as Naina Peak, this place is renowned for the Himalayan view and the vast expanses of the Terai region of Kumaon. But most importantly it is famous for its splendid bird’s eye view of the town! This peak is considered to be one of the highest in the vicinity that poses serious challenges even to the avid trekkers, let alone new ones. One of the best nature’s experiences, once you reach atop China Peak you will experience 360 degree view of the Himalayan range, with Nainital Lake on one side and Khurpatal, Kaladungi region view on other. You will also find a little shop on the top that serves light breakfast options to satiate hunger pangs after hiking. The mesmerizing part of this place is the road that leads here which is a pleasant forest of rhododendrons, deodars and cypresses.

• Sattal Lake


Sitting at an altitude of 1370 meters below the lush green enchanting orchards in the Mehragaon Valley, Sattal Lake is the amalgamation of seven freshwater lakes. Located in the Lower Himalayas near Bhimtal, the lake is surrounded by dense forests of oak and pine trees. This place enjoys the status of an unpolluted freshwater biome in India and thus is the home of thousands of migratory birds that fly here from far and wide.
